Forgotten Man United man has his say on Manchester Derby win

Bastian Schweinsteiger’s Manchester United career is definitely coming to an end, as the World Cup winner has been ousted from Jose Mourinho’s squad this season, but the veteran midfielder has shown maturity throughout and still supports his employers.

Last night’s Manchester Derby in the EFL Cup was the latest match that Schweinsteiger was overlooked for, with Mourinho electing to field a very strong team to face Manchester City, but the former Bayern Munich man was still in attendance.

Since arriving at the club from the Bundesliga in 2015, Schweinsteiger has spent the majority of his time watching from the sidelines and he’s likely to earn a high-profile move to Major League Soccer or China in January, as Man United are more than happy to let him leave.

Schweinsteiger himself has refused to create problems regarding his regular omissions, though, as he’s stated he remains available should he ever be needed and has impressed United with his efforts in training.

Following the narrow 1-0 win, with Juan Mata scoring the only goal of the match to set-up a quarter-final clash with West Ham, Schweinsteiger again posted a tweet as he celebrated the result.
