Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney is a prime transfer target for David Beckham’s impending Miami FC, due to be launched in 2018, according to ESPN.
The England star, who recently became his country’s all time highest goal scorer, played internationally with Beckham for a number of years in the mid to late 00’s.
Now, the former United, Real Madrid and PSG mega star is preparing to launch his franchise in sunny Florida, and wants his ex-Three Lions teammate to headline.
Fellow English stars Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard have made the move across the pond recently, and the MLS can boast the likes of Kaka, Andrea Pirlo and David Villa.
Former England captain Beckham, is reportedly close to making an announcement regarding the building of a stadium for his upcoming franchise, and sees Rooney as an ideal transfer target.
The Daily Star suggests that the Red Devils captain would be open to a move to the States at the end of his current deal, when he will be approaching his 33rd birthday.
