It took a while for Manchester United to get going this season but the Red Devils now seem to be at their best under the guidance of Jose Mourinho, with new signings Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba pulling the strings.
At the back, the likes of David De Gea are also getting a lot of praise but one man has been overlooked quite a lot this season, despite boasting some impressive statistics. Step forward Ander Herrera.
The Spaniard hadn’t quite established himself as a key-player in the regimes of David Moyes and Louis Van Gaal but the former Athletic Bilbao man is now impressing, with his contribution deeper in midfield allowing United to get the best out of Paul Pogba in a more attacking role.
Whilst Herrera is also capable in attack, he’s been a top-performer in his deeper role and leads the Premier League statistics in one passing aspect.

With more interceptions than any other midfielder in the Premier League this season, Herrera has impressed in his 13 league starts and will look to build upon his fine stats in the coming months.
