He’s arrived… Pogba’s epic European showing in numbers

Paul Pogba has dominated conversations among Manchester United fans since his summer arrival at Old Trafford. The French midfielder’s return to the North West of England from Juventus during the last transfer window was the biggest saga of the off-season, with daily updates bandied around gossip columns while his agent, Mino Raiola, became a minor celebrity for his role in negotiations.

Eventually, as we all now know, Pogba became the most expensive player in the history of football when his £89m switch went through. Yet, since then, he’s looked far from being the star many thought Man United had paid so lavishly to acquire.

The 23-year-old has seemingly in his new surroundings, while his manager, Jose Mourinho, hasn’t really worked out how to get the most from his athletic ace.

However, last night showed signs of change…


Pogba was immense against Fenerbahce during Man United’s 4-1 win, netting two goals and generally looking the part in midfield. He managed four shots, played 70 passes and was effective in terms of tackles and interceptions in his box-to-box role.
