When Manchester United signed Memphis Depay from PSV in the summer of 2015, he was touted as the next big talent to emerge from the Dutch Eridivisie.

However, things never really worked out for the Dutchman in Manchester and he was sold to French side Lyon in 2017.

The now 24-year-old has certainly got his career back on track though, and his display for the Netherlands against Germany on Saturday proved that United were too quick to sell him.

The Netherlands won the game 3-0, becoming the first Dutch side to beat Germany in over 16 years, with Depay scoring the second goal and terrorising the German defence.

In his time in the Premier League, Depay, who was given the famed number seven shirt, only managed seven goals and six assists in 53 appearances for United.

Last season though he recorded 22 goals and 17 assists in all competitions for Lyon and is now back to impressing on the international stage.

So, Manchester United fans, do you think it was a mistake to sell Depay so soon? Have your say by voting in the poll below.
