HYS: Should Ander Herrera start vs Tottenham?

It’s been a strange season for midfielder Ander Herrera, not least because he lifted Manchester United’s Player of the Year award at the end of last term after significantly altering his game to become Jose Mourinho’s ankle-nipping engine room general.

In stark contrast, the two-cap Spaniard has made just eight starts in the Premier League this season, finding his place in midfield whisked away by summer signing Nemanja Matic – who has become Mourinho’s preferred partner for Paul Pogba.

But Herrera reminded everybody of his quality last Friday when he ran the show against Yeovil Town in the Fourth Round of the FA Cup. Although the League Two side represent rather modest opposition, Herrera’s performance really stood out – getting on the scoresheet while making the most tackles of any United player.

So, Red Devils fans, with a tough trip to Wembley in store on Wednesday night, would you make room for Herrera – who Transfermarkt value at £27million – in United’s starting XI against Tottenham Hotspur? Let us know by voting below…
