According to the Evening Standard, Manchester United are amongst the clubs keen to sign Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey for a cut-price fee in the January transfer window.
The Welshman is likely to be available given that his current contract expires at the end of this season and the Gunners have withdrawn their offer of new terms, as reported by the BBC. The North London club now face a choice between selling Ramsey to the highest bidder in January or losing him for free in the summer.
The 27-year-old is undoubtedly a quality player and would be an ideal fit for Jose Mourinho’s squad. The midfielder’s work rate, stamina, creativity and goal threat would make him an asset at Old Trafford, and if he could forge an effective partnership with Paul Pogba in the middle of the park then United could find themselves with a settled midfield pair for the foreseeable future.
The prospect of pinching yet another star from their bitter rivals, Arsenal, may well be an enticing one for the Red Devils too.
What do you think, United fans – do you agree that Ramsey would be a wise buy in January?
