Inter chief grateful to Man United for Vidic deal

Inter Milan owner Erick Thohir has offered his thanks to Manchester United for making the transfer of Nemanja Vidic so straightforward, reports talkSPORT.

The Indonesian businessmen is funding a major rebuilding project at the San Siro, and the Manchester United captain has agreed to become his first signing of the summer.

The Serbian centre-back headed Manchester United in front against Bayern Munich on Tuesday evening, and Thohir used his goal as an opportunity to thank the club for making the signing so easy.

Thohir told CalcioMercato: “Vidic is a great champion, one of the strongest defenders in the world.

“I’m extremely pleased with the closing agreement that will take him to Milan.

“His features, his international experience, his charisma as a leader will be key for the team and for the growth of our younger players.

“He’ll add value to the club and will be a further step in the construction of a great Inter.

“Id like to thank Manchester United, Nemanja and his entourage for the dedication and professionalism demonstrated during the negotiation.”
