Tottenham Hotspur ‘keeper Hugo Lloris wanted a summer switch to Old Trafford, reports the Daily Star.
The Frenchman had been linked as a possible replacement for David De Gea, had his move to Real Madrid been ratified.
However, the Spaniard saw a last gasp move to Madrid collapse in the dying hours of deadline day, and will remain at Old Trafford until at least January.
Lloris is quoted as saying ‘the desired movement didn’t happen’ as he prepares for Les Blues’ friendlies against Portugal and Serbia later this month.
The former Lyon net minder has been at White Hart Lane since 2012, arriving in North London in an £8m deal, and only signed a five-year contract extension last year.
Still, he is rumoured to have been high on manager Louis van Gaal’s list to fill the gloves of the departing De Gea.
