Ex-footballers turned pundits, Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher, have been tasked with announcing England's 2019 Netball World Cup campaign and, of course, it naturally escalated into a bit of friendly banter.

England will be one of the favourites to clinch the trophy this summer and will be aiming to replicate their past success after the incredible gold medal-winning run at the Commonwealth Games in 2018.

Neville's sister, Tracey Neville, is their coach and, since the competition is being held in Liverpool, Neville was quick to joke about his family's reputation in the area, but expressed his hope that his sister will get a good reception.

This, of course, was a dig based at his Manchester United past, something which is almost impossible to detach from Neville's media presence.

He posted a video on

Quirky as they usually are in their performances, it was not surprising that they would joke around while also taking the World Cup seriously.

Carragher replied with a single word for Neville, labelling him an "icon" in a tongue-in-cheek reference towards his attire.
