Joao Miranda has scrapped rumours of a move to Manchester United by claiming that he’s happy at Atletico Madrid and has not been in any contact with the Red Devils.
The Brazilian centre-back has been one of the Rojiblancos’ key performers over the course of the past few seasons, playing a big role in the Spanish league and cup successes, as well as the run to the Champions League Final earlier this year.
His displays have attracted interest from some of Europe’s big hitters, with United a side to have been linked with the 30-year-old over the course of the last couple of months.
With Louis van Gaal desperate to draft in cover for his threadbare backline this winter, there have been rumours of a move for Miranda – who has two years remaining on his contract in Madrid.
But the enforcer says that he is not aware of interest from Old Trafford and that he’s settled where he is:
“I know nothing about it,” he is quoted by talkSPORT.
“I just know that I want to finish my contract with Atletico. This is my club. I still have two years [on my contract] and I’m very happy there.”
