20-year-old Maguire has found himself linked with a switch to Old Trafford after establishing himself as an integral part of the Blades defence.
However manager Weir insists he has heard nothing from the Premier League champions.
“I don’t know anything about it, but it is great news for our players to be linked with such big clubs,” Weir told Sky Sports.
The former Everton defender also declared he would be doing his utmost to keep Maguire at Bramall Lane, although conceded it is only a matter of time before a bigger club comes calling if his form continues in the same manner.
“Harry has a lot of attributes, for a young lad he has played a lot of games, and I would not be surprised if clubs were looking at him,” he added.
“But we don’t want to lose him.”
Manchester United manager David Moyes is under pressure to acquire new faces in January after a poor summer transfer window which saw the former Everton boss bring in just Marouane Fellaini despite being linked with a host of big names.
