Leeds United plotting shock swoop on Man United for gifted hotshot

Leeds owner Massimo Cellino was in attendance at the League One playoff final in order to run the rule over Manchester United striker Ashley Fletcher, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The 20-year old marksman has been on loan at Barnsley this season, scoring in their 3-1 win over Millwall that saw them promoted to the Championship.

He notched 9 goals in 27 appearances for the Tykes, with Whites owner Cellino reportedly keen on bringing him across Yorkshire on loan next season.

Though Garry Monk has been installed at the helm at Elland Road, the Italian shows no signs of staying from his hands on approach in the transfer market.

A highly rated talent with those behind the scenes at Old Trafford, he joined the club as a youngster from Bolton Wanderers in 2009, before signing his first professional deal with the Red Devils half a decade later.

Chris Wood is currently the star striker at Elland Road, though there have been doubts over the fitness of the New Zealand international.
