LVG favourite demands Man United January exit

Marouane Fellaini has told Manchester United that he wants to leave the club and sign for AC Milan before the close of the transfer window, according to reports from Metro.

The giant Belgian has emerged as a target for the Serie A heavyweights of late, with the Rossoneri eager to add him to their ranks this month on loan with a view to a permanent deal.

However, United have knocked back an initial approach, but Fellaini is so eager to move on that Metro, citing Corriere della Sera, claim he’s demanded a move.

The ex-Everton man is understood to be worried that he’s not a guaranteed starter at Old Trafford, which he sees as an issue with EURO 2016 coming up.

Fellaini is currently a key member of a talented Belgian squad, and is sure to be aware that with competition so fierce he could fail to make the cut if he’s not performing week in, week out domestically between now and the summer.

LVG is likely to be reluctant to let the 28-year-old leave as he’s known to be a player the Dutchman values – he’s used him in midfield, as a ‘No.10’ and an auxiliary striker already this season.
