In yet another Paul Pogba transfer saga twist, AS are reporting that Real Madrid are in talks with the Juventus player’s agent, but are asking for more time to structure a deal for the Manchester United-linked midfielder.
The 23-year-old Frenchman, who helped his side to the final of EURO 2016, has been dominating headlines of late amid much speculation about his future.
Man United are understood to be willing to pay a massive £100m for the player they allowed to leave Old Trafford for a minimal compensation sum in 2012, and Spanish football expert, Guillem Balague, has suggested that the financial cost of the deal is too great for Real to match.
However, reports now claim that the La Liga heavyweights have not given up hope and are indeed in talks with the player’s agent, Mino Raiola.
It’s understood that the Madrid side are requesting more time to structure the payments for a world-record shattering €120m (£100m) bid.
Time appears to be an issue judging by recent suggestions that Raiola wants a deal done by the end of July, yet it’s rumoured that playing Champions League football under Zinedine Zidane is preferable to Pogba than a season in the Europa League at Man United.
