Man United ‘agree £13.1m deal’ for Brazilian sensation

Manchester United have agreed a £13.1m deal for Hoffenheim’s highly-rated playmaker Roberto Firmino, according to ESPN Brazil reporter Jose Elias.

The attacking midfielder, who is currently away on international duty at the Copa America with Brazil, has been linked with the Red Devils over the course of the past few months as Louis van Gaal plots to up his transfer business.

And now it appears a breakthrough has been reached, with Elias having revealed on Twitter that a figure of €18m (£13.1m) has been settled with the Bundesliga side.

The respected reporter went on to suggest that the player will undergo a medical with the Premier League club soon before penning a deal with them.

Firmino is a skilful attack-minded midfielder, who has shone in German football for some time.

Since the start of the 2013/14 campaign, he has notched an impressive 23 league goals and registered a further 21 assists.
