The Red Devils smashed their transfer record to sign the Argentine from Real Madrid over the summer in a £59.9m deal, which grabbed headlines across Europe.
PSG were also interested in Di Maria at the time, but Financial Fair Play restrictions scuppered their hopes of landing the South American.
There were suggestions after the deal that the 26-year-old only joined United as he could not seal a switch to Paris, with staying Real not an option following the club’s capture of James Rodriguez.
And now the Ligue 1 champions are ready to revive their interest in the summer.
Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi appear to be nearing the Parc des Prince exit door after being dropped by manager Laurent Blanc, which has led to suggestions that Di Maria is seen as the ideal big name to revive the Parisians’ ailing attack.
The United star even dropped a hint ahead of the Ballon d’Or awards on Monday that a switch to France may appeal to him in the future:
“Moving one day in Ligue 1? I do not know. I am very much in Manchester now.
“I am very happy, people welcomed me very well. We do not know what may happen one day.”
