According to reports from Mirror Football yesterday evening, La Liga giants Barcelona are planning moves for two Premier League stars when their transfer embargo is lifted in January 2016 – Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin and Manchester United’s Ander Herrera.
The former has impressed as the Gunners’ deputy right-back this season in the absence of injured Frenchman Mathieu Debuchy, bagging two goals and one assist in twelve Premier League starts, and was originally a product of Barcelona’s famed academy, La Masia, before leaving for the Emirates in summer 2011. The Catalans allegedly view the 20 year-old as a potential successor to the ageing Dani Alves.
The latter joined Manchester United last summer in a £29million deal and has improved as the season’s dragged on, recently enjoying a spell of four goals, two assists and three Man of the Match awards in the space of ten appearances.
Spaniards often struggle to resist the allure of the Nou Camp, but the good news for Arsenal and Manchester United is that they have until January 2016 to convince Bellerin and Herrera to stay put.
