Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is planning another summer of big spending, with reports from the Daily Mail indicating that a £100m+ triple swoop for Nathaniel Clyne, Mats Hummels and Paul Pogba is on his agenda.
The Dutchman looks to be on course to get the Red Devils back into the Champions League, which was the expectation placed at his door when he oversaw a massive £150m overhaul of the first-team squad last year.
And should his side get over the line and return to the big table, the United board are ready to back LVG once again to the tune of over £100m.
To further strengthen his squad, the former Barcelona chief has set his sights on Dortmund’s Hummels, Juventus ace Pogba and Clyne of Southampton.
The German defender is seen as the prime target with bolstering his backline a priority for Van Gaal, while Clyne is thought of as the ideal solution to the club’s right-back issues.
Pogba is the other target, with the Frenchman having shone since leaving the club as a youngster in 2012.
All three players are likely to cost over £100m.
