The Red Devils enjoyed a productive summer transfer window, signing Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly for a combined sum of close to £150m.
However, reports claim Mourinho is seemingly not yet content with his Man United squad, with Fabinho already being eyed up for a January move.
It’s understood the Manchester giants wanted the Brazilian ahead of Wednesday’s transfer deadline, but Monaco’s passage into the Champions League group stage convinced them to keep the 22-year-old.
Interestingly, Fabinho had a short spell under Mourinho at Real Madrid when he joined the Spaniards on loan from Rio Ave in 2012.
The full-back made one senior appearance for Los Blancos, coming on as a substitute in a 6-2 win over Malaga late into the 2012/13 campaign, which was Mourinho’s last season in charge at the Bernebeu.
