Man United boss to be lumbered with loan flop

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal may have to crowbar Nani into his 2015/16 plans, with the on-loan winger set to return to the club this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The Portugal international is currently away from Old Trafford at Sporting Lisbon, whom he joined on loan for the current campaign as part of the deal for Marcos Rojo last year.

Although he’s been deemed surplus to requirements by LVG already, with three years remaining on his Red Devils contract, which is worth £110,000-per-week – the club are paying his wages in full now – a suitor may be hard to come by.

And even with Angel di Maria, Ashley Young, Juan Mata and Adnan Januzaj, as well as soon to be signed Dutchman Memphis Depay, already at his disposal, Van Gaal may well have to utilise Nani.

The wide-man – once dubbed the ‘new Cristiano Ronaldo’ – has been in decent form in his homeland this term, netting 11 goals in 35 appearances.
