Man United chasing ANOTHER left-back

Manchester United‘s major revamp shows no sign of ending, with the Old Trafford club identifying yet another left-back as a possible recruit in the January transfer window, according to The Express.

As if the summer signings of Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw and Daley Blind weren’t enough, Wolfsburg’s Ricardo Rodriguez is the latest left-sided player to be linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Despite being heavily linked with a move for the £15 million-rated Swiss international throughout the summer transfer window, the Red Devils opted instead to part with £30 million for England starlet Luke Shaw from Southampton, following the departure of the long-serving first-choice left back Patrice Evra.

However, United are still interested in securing the services of the player, with a possible move in the new year being mooted.

With former Manchester United coach Rene Meulensteen recently claiming that Shaw is not good enough to play for the club, Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal may see 22 -year-old Rodriguez as a more suitable player to fill United’s left-back berth.

The 20-times league champions will be without a number of defenders for Saturday’s fixture against West Ham United due to injury, which could lead to a first-team debut for teenager Paddy McNair.
