Man United considering emergency striker move

Manchester United are considering recalling James Wilson form his loan spell at Brighton following Will Keane’s injury blow, according to reports from the Daily Star.

The Red Devils’ young centre-forward was forced off with 14 minutes to play as Louis van Gaal’s men beat Shrewsbury Town 3-0 in their FA Cup fifth round tie and looks set to join Wayne Rooney on the sidelines for the foreseeable future.

This leaves LVG with only Anthony Martial available to lead the line at Old Trafford, a state of affairs that is far from ideal with the club competing for fourth place in the Premier League alongside cup and Europa League responsibilities.

Van Gaal recently revealed that there is a clause in place allowing United to bring Wilson back early from his loan move to Brighton, and reports now claim that the Manchester giants are considering triggering it.

The 20-year-old joined the Seagulls in November in a deal due to run until the end of the season and has netted three goals for the Championship side already.
