The winger is 20 years of age and without a club but already boasts one senior cap at international level, having represented Curacao back in 2012 after picking up five caps for their U20s side.
The former Feyenoord starlet has been doing the rounds in England in a bid to find a new club and has held trials with three sides so far – Leicester City, Oldham and Manchester United.
Indeed, Martis spent two weeks in July training with the League One side and scored a spectacular goal in a pre-season friendly against Preston North End.
He’s now back on trial with the Red Devils but the youngster already has a contract offer from Oldham on the table – and has expressed a willingness to play first-team football as soon as possible.
As quoted by Manchester Evening News, he said; “I went into Leicester for a day and felt comfortable and got an offer.
“Then I went into Manchester United for a week and received good feedback from Warren Joyce and could have earned a deal had I waited, but I just want to get my career started.
“I played against League Two Crewe and scored and laid on an assist and then played in a game with Tranmere where I help set up a number of goals before I went Oldham and scored against a championship Preston. Oldham have offered me a deal and we have been in negotiations for two weeks.
“I am nearing a decision on my future and I want to make the right decision for the next stage of my career.”
