Man United eager to seal four-year deal for exciting Dutch prodigy

According to reports from Goal, Manchester United are ready to offer Timothy Fosu-Mensah a four-year contract.

The Red Devils signed the 18-year-old from Ajax’s academy in 2014 and he made his first team debut earlier this year, coming on as a substitute for Marcos Rojo in a 3-2 Premier League win over Arsenal in February.

The versatile teenager, who can operate as a full-back, a centre-half or a defensive midfielder, went on to register ten appearances for the Old Trafford outfit during 2015/16 – including outings in the FA Cup quarter-final and semi-final – amid injuries to the club’s more established stars.

According to Goal, United are ready to reward the Netherlands U19 with a four-year contract, after tying down fellow youngsters Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Marcus Rashford to long-term deals.

That suggests the youngster will be involved in Jose Mourinho’s first-team plans next season, following the Portuguese’s appointment as Manchester United’s new manager last Friday.
