Man United eye Tottenham ace as star nears exit

Manchester United are ready to pursue Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris if they’re unable to keep David de Gea at Old Trafford, according to reports from the Daily Star.

The Red Devils are set for a battle to retain their in-form goalkeeper, with Real Madrid rumoured to be plotting a big money move next year as they look to replace underperforming club hero Iker Casillas.

United are desperate to keep De Gea, but the player himself could be lured back to his homeland by the promise of Champions League football, which is not guaranteed at the Theatre of Dreams.

And should Louis van Gaal lose his current No. 1, he is ready to push a move for Lloris.

The French stopper is, alongside De Gea, considered to be one of the Premier League’s top glovesmen, and has impressed during his two-and-a-half years at White Hart Lane.

LVG is said to be attracted to the Les Bleus star’s ‘front foot’ style of goalkeeping, and the 27-year-old himself has already hinted that he could leave Spurs in search of bigger and better things.

Victor Valdes is also an option, but the Spaniard’s long-term knee injury is a worry.
