Man United eye unheard of 38-goal hit-man

Manchester United are considering a shock move for teenage Southport striker Drew Lewis, who has notched a staggering 38 goals this season, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

The Red Devils broke the record for a sum spent in a single transfer window last summer as they splashed out over £150m on new talent, but Louis van Gaal has shown that he’s willing to give inexperienced players a go after signing Sadiq El Fitouri from Salford City in January.

And the Dutchman is once again keen to look away from the high-end pool of talent associated with United, with Lewis on his radar.

The 19-year-old has been impressive in Southport’s reserve side this season, smashing 38 goals despite the campaign having only just ticked past the halfway mark.

It’s claimed that the Conference outfit are ready to cash in on the youngster and have allowed him to train at the Red Devils’ Carrington complex to allow LVG to assess him.
