There are some footballers that can do little wrong in the eyes of the supporters.

One of those at Manchester United is Juan Mata, with the 29-year-old arguably the most popular player with the club's worldwide fanbase.

Mata is actually out of contract at the end of the season, and there would be an uproar if the Red Devils allowed him to leave in next summer's transfer window.

The attacker was left out of the squad for the defeat at Chelsea before the international break, but returned for the Newcastle United match at the weekend - playing in his favoured number 10 position as United recorded a 4-1 win at Old Trafford.

Mata, who is valued at £27m by transfermarkt.co.uk, posted his latest blog on Monday, and as expected, the United supporters were out in force to pay tribute to the Spaniard.

Jesse Lingard is one of those that gets a lot of stick from the United fans, but Mata is the complete opposite as he continues to be showed with praise.

One of the good guys in football, the former Valencia star remains a hugely popular figure at Old Trafford.
