Manchester United safely booked their spot in the FA Cup semi-finals on Saturday evening, defeating Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0 at Old Trafford.
The pressure was on Jose Mourinho’s side to deliver after a mid-week European exit and although it was one of the most vintage performances it was a job professionally done.
The FA Cup is the only trophy realistically available to Man United this season and so it’ll be a big priority to lift it, with special Wembley dates to follow.
Fans were pleased with the result but did come out of the match with a point of contention – the performance and substitution of left-back Luke Shaw.
He was hauled off ruthlessly at the interval by Mourinho and some are now speculating whether his display could spell the end of his Man United career, with Premier League appearances limited this season and the summer transfer window looming.
Has the 22-year-old completely fallen out of favour with the Old Trafford boss?
Fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts…
After the rant from the Gaffer, I honestly feel Luke Shaw's career at United might be hanging on a thread tbh

I hope so. Need to do what City did and strangthen the weakened area of the side and that includes LB/RB. Need to have at least 2 in each of those positions who can compete for a starting place. Sell Darmian as well.

It may as well be. He's been teetering on the edge of a move away since his injury. If he really wants to make a name for himself, he's not going to do it at Old Trafford.

Felt so bad for him, I’d love him to stay if he could get back to his optimum level but there’s obviously other factors involved so in his own best interests he’s got to go. A real shame 😔😞😔😞😔

I really hope Shaw do very well when he leaves United. The lad suffered a lot under #Mourinho who targeted him continuously for no legit reasons. I will be annoyed when he leaves but I know it's better for him @ManUtd #mufc
