According to BBC Sport journalist David Ornstein, Arsenal have agreed a £72m deal with Lille for the transfer of Nicolas Pepe.

The report claims that the Gunners will pay the fee 'via a series of instalments' due to the fact that the club have a limited transfer budget this summer.

Napoli are also said to have agreed a price with Lille, but the Ivory Coast international signalled that he was not interested in a move to the Italian club.

Pepe was in fine form for Lille during the 2018-19 campaign - scoring 23 times and contributing 12 assists in 41 appearances in all competitions.

Manchester United were also linked with a swoop, although BBC Sport journalist Simon Stone has since claimed that the Red Devils were never in the race.
