Manchester United face Huddersfield Town in the fifth round of the FA Cup at the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday, and Red Devils fans have demanded that defender Victor Lindelof makes a rare start against the Terriers.
The 23-year-old moved to Old Trafford in a £31m deal from Benfica during the summer transfer window but he has found it difficult to break into the starting XI in the Premier League especially, having only made eight starts in 10 appearances there this term.
The Sweden international hasn’t played a single minute of top flight football since New Year’s Day, while his previous outing in a United shirt came in the 4-0 win against Yeovil Town in the FA Cup last month.
Man United supporters were quick to have their say on the centre-back via social media, and while one said “Lindelof should start today ahead of Smalling”, another said “Lindelof also has to start”.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…

3412 would look like this
Lindelof, Jones, Rojo

I think that this might work pretty well, thoughts? #mufc

Matchday! Lindelof should start today ahead of Smalling. Will be absolutely fuming if this won't happen. Smalling's performances have been shambolic really. Hopefully a 433 formation as well. Come on United! #MUFC #FACup

Hopefully Bailly will come off the bench today, he needs some minutes before the Sevilla game. Lindelof also has to start.

I think he should start Lindelof tomorrow. Just let him sink or swim.
