Marcus Rashford seems to be a different player in England colours, compared to at Manchester United, and the club’s fans are blaming manager Jose Mourinho for not getting the best out of the 20-year-old.
Rashford scored the only goal in England’s 1-0 win over Switzerland on Tuesday evening, making it two goals in two games after his first-half strike against Spain on Saturday.
Despite scoring three goals so far this season, Romelu Lukaku has been receiving a lot of criticism from the club’s fans after two poor performances against Brighton and Tottenham Hotspur, suggesting Rashford should be given an opportunity to play up front instead. But judging by Mourinho’s team selections, that won’t happen any time soon.
Some of these fans on Twitter have even gone so far as to say Mourinho should leave United. The Portuguese manager has been under a lot of pressure of late and the fans have seemingly had enough of him.
Rashford is, however, serving a three-match domestic suspension after his red card at Burnley in the Premier League. But he will be available for selection for United’s opening round Champions League fixture against Young Boys next week.
Here are some Twitter reactions from Manchester United fans, following Rashford’s goal on Tuesday:
