Man United fans go mental as comeback kid returns in style

Much has been made of Memphis Depay’s time at Manchester United since arriving from PSV in the summer.

The Netherlands international arrived with a lot of expectation on his shoulders, but has since struggled to make a huge impact in the early stages of the season, losing his place in the starting XI to youngster Jesse Lingard in recent weeks.

But injury to Anthony Martial and Wayne Rooney paved the way for Depay to be recalled to the side against Watford this afternoon, with many claiming this would be his big chance to everyone he can be a big player for the Red Devils.

And it took him just ten minutes in to the clash at Vicarage Road to do just that as he latched on to a class Ander Herrara cross from the right to guide a wonderful side footed volley past Gomes to give United the lead.

And it was no surprise to see United fans go absolutely mental on Twitter…
