Tuesday proved to be an embarrassing night for Manchester United as they were knocked out of the Champions League by Sevilla courtesy of a 2-1 home defeat to the Spanish side.

United had picked up a 0-0 draw in the first leg of their last-16 tie in Seville, but suffered a shock loss at Old Trafford to bow out of the competition on Tuesday night.

United boss Jose Mourinho has been widely criticised for his tactics over the two legs, while a number of the club's players have received rockets on social media.

One of those that seems to have escaped criticism, however, is Ivorian centre-back Eric Bailly.

The former Villarreal defender has recently returned to the spell following a period on the sidelines, and there is no question that United have missed him.

Bailly, who is believed to be on £75,000 a week at United, made one spectacular challenge during the Sevilla game at Old Trafford, but it was not enough to prevent his team from exiting the competition.
