According to reports in German media outlet Sport Bild, Bayern Munich are ready to sell centre-back Jerome Boateng this summer if they receive an offer of between €50-60m (£44-£53m) for the Germany international, and Manchester United fans have been quick to react to the rumour that they are said to be one of the interested clubs.

Sport Bild says that while the Bundesliga champions aren't actively looking to sell the 29-year-old they will for the right price, and they say the likes of United, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain could all be potential destinations or the defender.

Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho certainly wants to add a new centre-back to his squad this summer having been heavily linked with a move for Tottenham Hotspur's Toby Alderweireld, although Boateng could prove to be a cheaper alternative – especially after a poor performance for Germany in their shock 1-0 World Cup 2018 defeat to Mexico on Sunday.

Man United supporters, who want their club to re-sign a popular £13.5m-rated star following his opening World Cup display, took to social media to give their thoughts on the link, and while one said the club would be "buying another Phil Jones", another said they "would love him at United".
