According to the Manchester Evening News, Mauricio Pochettino wants to be Manchester United's next manager.

The report suggests that the Argentine, recently sacked by Tottenham Hotspur, remains enchanted by the idea of taking charge at Old Trafford.

There is of course no vacant position as of yet though, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the wheel.

However, with them winning just four of their 14 Premier League matches this season ahead of the visit of Jose Mourinho's Spurs on Wednesday night, the pressure is certainly building on the former Red Devils striker.

Plenty of United fans have been having their say on the Pochettino claim, with one using the chant that was so often aimed towards him by Spurs supporters.

However, another individual was quick to hit back by suggesting he was hardly magic given he failed to win any trophies during his spell with the north London side.

There was certainly a lot of backing and those that are excited at the potential of the 47-year-old taking charge though, with some clearly - and perhaps fairly given results and performances this season which have left them in 10th position in the standings - having had enough of Solskjaer now.

However, there were others that aren't sold on a man who, let's not forget, was relieved of his duties following a dismal start to the 2019/20 campaign. That included a 7-2 home defeat by Bayern Munich in the Champions League and a League Cup exit at the hands of Colchester United, of League Two.

Saying he is the "Argentinian Moyes" was a bit too far from one supporter, however.

Finally, one person made a completely valid point that even if the club gets Pochettino, they will still be stuck with the same board and people like Ed Woodward, who clearly haven't delivered what a club the magnitude of Manchester United should have been expected to in recent years.
