Reported Manchester United Lucas Moura is set to join Tottenham Hotspur in a £25m deal from Paris Saint-Germain before the January transfer window slams shut, and Red Devils fans have been quick to have their say on the news.
The Sun reported on January 3 that United manager Jose Mourinho was keen to sign the out of favour PSG winger on loan until the end of the season, but a move never materialised as the club instead wrapped up a deal to bring Alexis Sanchez to Old Trafford from Arsenal.
Now Moura is on the verge of joining their Premier League rivals Spurs instead, with the Red Devils looking unlikely to do anymore business before the close of play on Wednesday, shortly after they face the north London outfit in a crucial top flight clash at Wembley.
Man United supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on the imminent transfer, and while one said “so glad United dodged that bullet”, another said “our level is, was and always will be Alexis Sanchez” when talking about the Brazilian.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
So glad United dodged that nobody bullet. Definitely be a blank https://t.co/uoSf6ff6OL

Lucas moura will be a great signing. I remember when #MUFC were in for him a few years ago, gutted he didn’t come.

Moura will be great for Spurs… as I said before, he wouldn’t be great for United as he’s a function player. He’ll get strict instructions from Spurs and he’ll do well for them.

PSG are doing a good job of using Manchester United as a tool for getting rid of their unwanted players to Tottenham aren't they? They are more than welcome to Aurier and Moura.

I can’t believe I was so desperate that I was happy with Lucas Moura coming to United. Our level is, was and will always be Alexis Sanchez. That’s what we aim for.
