Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof helped Sweden qualify for the 2018 World Cup as they drew 0-0 against Italy in the second leg of their play-off match on Monday night, and Red Devils fans were quick to have their say on his performance.

The summer addition played the full 90 minutes for his country as they kept a clean sheet and prevented the Azzurri from playing at a World Cup for the first time since 1958, with their one-goal lead from the first leg proving to be enough to take them to Russia.

It will certainly be a big confidence booster for the 23-year-old, who has been a regular for United in the Carabao Cup and Champions League this term, but has struggled in the Premier League after featuring for just 68 minutes – the majority of which came in the 2-1 defeat to Huddersfield Town.

Man United supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on his showing, and while one said Lindelof "didn't put a foot wrong", another said 'I still believe that he'll turn his United career around'.
