Yet more pressure was piled upon Jose Mourinho this week as Manchester United slumped to a painful 0-0 draw with Valencia at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.

The Red Devils were lifeless on the night, and failed to greatly test the La Liga outfit - managing just four shots on target throughout the match. Whilst the home side were poor to a man, a few big names stood out for being particularly ineffective.

Romelu Lukaku was chief amongst these underperforming stars. The 25-year-old, who is valued at £90 million by Transfermarkt - roughly the figure, including add-ons, that United paid to sign him in 2017 - was utterly anonymous up front. The Belgium international’s only standout moment in the match was an attempted step-over which resulted in the 6’3” forward stumbling awkwardly over the ball.
