Man United fans tell club to sign Anthony Knockaert after brilliant Brighton display

Brighton and Hove Albion winger Anthony Knockaert shone in his side’s 1-0 win against Manchester United at the Amex Stadium on Friday night, and Red Devils fans have told their club to sign the right-sided player.

The 26-year-old Frenchman, rated at £7.2m by Transfermarkt, probably put in his best display of the season for the visit of Jose Mourinho’s men, as the Seagulls preserved their Premier League status for another year by reaching the magic 40-point mark.

Knockaert impressed with his work-rate, quality on the ball and his skill – he brilliantly beat Anthony Martial with one trick – and his display didn’t go unnoticed by the Old Trafford faithful on Twitter, who were left unimpressed with Martial and Juan Mata on their flanks.

Man United supporters, who don’t want Martial to start ahead of Alexis Sanchez again, were quick to have their say on Knockaert’s showing via social media, and while one said “Jose should buy Knockaert as soon as possible”, another said “Knockaert would be an upgrade on Mata”.

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
