Napoli winger Dries Mertens impressed and scored a stunning goal in Belgium's 3-0 win against Panama in their opening 2018 World Cup fixture on Monday, and Manchester United fans want their club to sign the attacker, rated at £27m by Transfermarkt.

The 31-year-old started on the right side of a front three also containing Romelu Lukaku and Eden Hazard against Panama, and while the Red Devils took a while to get going they took eventually took the lead through Mertens' brilliant dipping half-volley.

The forward is clearly ready to bring his form from the 2017/18 campaign for his club – where he scored 22 goals and provided a further 12 assists in 49 appearances in all competitions – into the tournament with his country.
