A number of Manchester United fans have called on their club to move for Leicester City attacker James Maddison.

In an interview with Soccer Bible, the Englishman revealed that he "used to support" United when Cristiano Ronaldo was at the club.

It is unclear whether the 5 foot 9 attacker still supports the Red Devils but his words have been well received by the club's fans on social media.

Indeed, many of the supporters are keen for the 22-year-old to make the switch to Old Trafford as soon as possible.

Maddison scored seven times and registered seven assists in 36 Premier League appearances for Leicester during the 2018-19 campaign.

United had been expected to move for a new central attacker during the summer transfer window following Romelu Lukaku's deprture, but that proved not to be the case with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer saying they didn't in order to aid Mason Greenwood's development.
