Manchester United fans were left frustrated again by Jose Mourinho’s side on Sunday after witnessing their team being handily beaten by Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
The 3-1 victory for City piles the pressure on Mourinho and his squad after a particularly sluggish start to the season that sees the Red Devils languishing down in eighth position, seven points adrift of the top four.
A timid midfield and a lacklustre defence were primarily to blame, although United created little in the final third too.
One of the players tasked with adding a bit of creative flair to the team was Spaniard Ander Herrera, but his usually accurate passing was lacking, completing just 30 accurately according to WhoScored.com.
Having made just one Premier League start this season prior to Sunday’s fixture, it was a rare chance to impress for Herrera and it’s fair to say he didn’t take his opportunity.
Fans were left fuming with his performance took to Twitter to share their dismay…
Ridiculous what’s going on even at this stage, two donkeys in Herrera and Fellani, Fellani gets too much stick but Herrera what does he offer apart from jumping around with his hands out? Fred isn’t even getting a sniff, mistakes everywhere! Matic poor! #mufc #MCIMUN

Herrera was undoubtedly the worst player on the pitch; he needs 60 seconds to work out what to do with it and even when he has that long, the decision is always wrong. Should have dragged him off and played 3-4-1-2 with Fellaini behind Lukaku and Sanchez #mufc

Massive shout out to #Herrera who managed to give the ball away 17 times lost it in possession 9times didn’t play a single ball forward and got out paced by a 36 year old silva all day #mufc please fuckoff back to Spain so overrated by our fans

The way we started the 2nd half killed the game. There were moments we should have press for that equalizer after our goal but given the quality #MCFC had, the 3rd was inevitable. Herrera was awful, a rare start but expected better from him. #MUFC

No complaints today. Schooled by a superior side.. Herrera was awful and I question not starting Sanchez too, but we did alright in spells. Onto the next one, a run of winnable games now #mufc

All the #MUFC saying just get rid of Pogba……..that's what we look like without him! Midfield trio of plodders today. Herrera was awful. But City are great yeah but achieved it by cheating! So fuck em.

Herrera was terrible today. Lukaku just does my head in now. Rashford frustrating also.
