Manchester United are out of the Carabao Cup after suffering a shock defeat to English Championship side Bristol City on Wednesday night.
Korey Smith was the hero for the Robins, scoring deep into injury time to give his side a famous victory after Joe Bryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic had earlier netted.
Jose Mourinho had made 10 changes from the weekend’s Premier League action but still had plenty of first team stars in the line-up including Anthony Martial, Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford.
There were chances for youngsters like Scott McTominay too, who partnered Pogba in the heart of the midfield.
Fans were left fuming with the performance and were especially critical of teenager McTominay, believing he had a role to play in conceding both of Bristol City’s goals.
The 21-year-old has impressed generally this season but supporters are looking for more from him going forward if he’s to stake a claim as a regular starter.
They took to Twitter to share their thoughts on his performance…
McTominay at fault for both goals !! Didnt do anything and some idiots were happy to see him at PL because he played good 10mins !! He has a very long way to go and prove otherwise show him the door #MUFC

Mctominay and Darmian are not fit to wear the United shirt, both awful awful players. Fair play to Bristol #MUFC

Also hate to point out but mctominay was at fault for both goals. Didn’t track runners both times. Reason why a youth player shouldn’t be in centre midfield for United. Highlights lack of options massively #mufc

McTominay isn't good enough for a premier league team as well. Kidding yourselves cos he's from the academy if you think he is #MUFC

I’m sorry but Scott McTominay was awful for that goal. Didn’t have a good game whatsoever #MUFC

That goal is Mctominay's fault. Gave the ball away so needlessly when he should have brought the ball down and played it out.
Poor performance from #MUFC.
Well done Bristol City. #BRCvMUN

Whole Utd team poor tonight but McTominay was criminal tonight let both men run behind him for both goals. Just not good enough, Martial, Rashford just turning up terrible attitude very frustrating.
