Man United flop closing in on Serie A move

Manchester United flop Marouane Fellaini is expected to have a medical today ahead of move to Napoli, according to the Daily Star.

The Belgian suffered a disastrous debut season at Old Trafford, following a £27.5million move from Everton last summer.

And new Red Devils boss Louis Van Gaal has deemed him surplus to requirements, giving him the green light to get his career back on track elsewhere.

And a season-long loan move is close to being completed, despite there being a dispute between both parties over his £100,000-a-week wages.

Napoli boss Rafa Benitez wants the Old Trafford outfit to pay 50 per cent of the midfielder’s wages, although United aren’t keen on that arrangement.

With the 26-year-old’s current value significantly lower than what they paid for him 12 months ago, United feel that allowing him to spend a year away from the now.

Van Gaal is also hoping to offload Shinji Kagawa, Nani and Anderson before the end of the transfer window.
