Man United get green light for £22m transfer after flop’s departure

Angel Di Maria officially completed his £45million switch to Paris Saint-Germain today, as reported by the Daily Star.

The completed deal means Red Devils boss Louis Van Gaal can no go ahead with the proposed transfer of Barcelona’s Pedro, who is thought to be on the verge of a £22.3m move to Old Trafford.

Di Maria endured a torrid time in Manchester after sealing a British record £59.7m transfer from Real Madrid last summer, and a severe dip in form during the second half of last season ultimately led to the club cashing in on him just a year later.

But his departure has moved United a step closer to brining Pedro to the Premier League after the Red Devils and Barcelona came to an agreement over a fee, with £18.1m being paid up front and £4.2m coming in add-ons.

The Daily Star claim Pedro has told friends he is keen on a move to the red half of Manchester after falling behind Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez in the Nou Camp pecking order.
