It’s been an enthralling Manchester derby thus far but only one side looks likely to claim the win at this point – Manchester United.
Manchester City opened the scoring after just seven minutes through Sergio Aguero but the Red Devils were quick to respond and overturned the lead in under half an hour.
The first goal came from a fortuitous Ashley Young, bumming the ball (yes, cushioning it with his bottom) past Joe Hart for a point-blank finish. And the England winger then set-up Marouane Fellaini, his expertly-angled cross finding the Belgian battering ram at the far post.
And just as Man City were getting back into the game, Juan Mata popped up to grab his eighth Premier League goal of the season, much to the delight of United fans on Twitter:
Brilliant goal Mata

I said this last season why Mata wasn't doing the best at United. I said once United click he'll play a big part. I should be a guru.

Just five minutes later, Man United added to their haul from a less likely source – defender Chris Smalling, who made his height and power count at a set piece.
Smalling… Call it a day for Man City.

Well done to Chris Smalling btw. He's had a good season and it's gone under the radar a bit. #mufc
