Man United goalie’s Spanish move in doubt as manager pulls plug on deal

Sevilla manager Unai Emery has vetoed a move for Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes, according to reports from talkSPORT.

The Spanish stopper looks set to leave Old Trafford after just over six months at the club following a high-profile fall out with Louis van Gaal, which has led to him being axed from the first two matchday squads of the Premier League season.

Although a switch to Major League Soccer in America has been mooted, Sevilla have are understood to have been in contact with the 33-year-old.

However, reports from talkSPORT, citing Radio Sevilla, claim that Emery has decided that his side do not need the former Barcelona ‘keeper, which has seemingly ended any hope of a swift move to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Valdes is not the only United goalkeeper being linked with a move away from Old Trafford, with David de Gea’s proposed transfer to Real Madrid also dragging on.
