Man United goalkeeper set to end transfer saga with exit

Victor Valdes is set to end his Manchester United career after just over six months by joining big-spending Turkish side Antalyaspor, according to reports from Fanatik.

The Spaniard only made two league appearances for the Red Devils over the latter half of the 2014/15 season after signing for the club as a free agent, stepping in for David de Gea following an injury late in the campaign.

His future has been plunged into doubt recently, with Louis van Gaal having axed him from his senior squad after criticising the experienced goalie’s attitude, and now reports claim that the former Barcelona ace is close to leaving Old Trafford.

Newly promoted Super Lig side Antalyaspor are understood to be the club in the frame, with the Turkish outfit investing heavily in a bid to challenge in the top tier.

Valdes’ former Barca team-mate Samuel Eto’o is already playing for them, and it appears the former Spain international will soon also be at the Akdeniz University Stadium.

The United man was linked with the club earlier this summer.
