Manchester United have made it known to Juventus that they are keen on star defender Leonardo Bonucci as well as Paul Pogba, according to reports from ESPN.

Talk of a deal worth close to a world-record £92m for the 23-year-old being close to completion has been doing the rounds, and reports claim that during discussions regarding the midfielder, Man United also brought up a deal for Bonucci.

The Italian, 29, is seen as one of the finest centre-backs on the planet, and has been a key part of Juventus’ five consecutive Serie A title triumphs.

Mourinho is thought, despite the addition of Bailly, to be keen to add a commanding defender to his ranks, with Bonucci an option.

However, should they move for the Azzurri ace, the Premier League heavyweights would be in direct competition with bitter rivals Manchester City, who are believed to be deep into negotiations for him.
